ESI Tech Services provide training and workforce solutions specific to your project, operations and company goals. Our competency solutions, verification of competency and training programs are designed to work around your project schedules, rosters and locations ensuring downtime is minimised. Solutions range from individual training and assessment to traineeship models and full-scale project training needs analyses.

We can provide our services on your rig; vessel; mine site or any other work location and training and assessment can be customised to meet your company and operational procedures; and be machine or equipment specific where required.

In most cases our training programs meet international and recognised standards including SNR2015, BSI, EN, ANSI, LOLER, LEEA, API, OPITO and others.

Rigging and Slinging

This course is designed for candidates to gain the necessary skills to plan, prepare and safely carry out rigging and slinging activities.

On completion of this course, candidates will be able to determine the SWL of gear and materials; select, maintain and inspect fibre ropes, chains, steel and wire ropes; perform splicing techniques and demonstrate a number of bends and hitches; sling, move and place loads; directing cranes.

Crane and Hoist Inspection

This course is designed to give candidates the necessary skills and knowledge to safely inspect a variety of cranes, hoists and wire rope. Candidates will be able to find faults, report to appropriate personnel and take proper isolation precautions as per company and manufacturer procedures/instructions.

Onshore Crane Operator

These course aims to give participants the necessary skills to safely operate a mobile slewing crane.

On completion of the course participants will be able to perform pre-operational checks; set-up and operate the crane competently; shut down and dismantle and perform various operations competently.

Offshore Crane Operator

These courses are designed to give candidates the necessary skills and knowledge to operate a crane safely and efficiently on an offshore facility.

Actions may include transfer of equipment to and from support vessels; transfer of personnel using appropriate approved equipment; safe management of loads during diving operations and other complex lifts at sea.

ESI Tech Services partner with the Australasian Training Company to deliver the following certification:

Lift Planning

This course is aimed at employees who are required to write and develop simple and complex lift plans in accordance with Company procedures, applicable lifting standards and industry best practices. This course will benefit Riggers, Crane Operators and Supervisors of lifting operations. It is also designed to refresh and update current qualified personnel on any changes in safety and operational procedures with regards to lifting and rigging.

Signalman

This course is designed for participants to gain the necessary skills to provide clear and concise communications during lifting operations.

On completion of this course, participants will understand methods for signalling a crane to direct a swung load – including hand signals, whistles, and radio communications.

Basic to Advanced Scaffolding

These courses are designed for participants to gain the necessary skills to plan, prepare & complete scaffolding work.

Basic scaffold
On completion of this course participants will be able to inspect equipment; work with fibre ropes; construct and dismantle modular scaffolds.

Intermediate scaffold
On completion of this course participants will be able to select equipment and inspect; dismantle scaffolding; construct tube and coupler type scaffolding; construct platforms and spurs and lash platforms.

Advanced scaffold
On completion of this course participants will be able to select and inspect gear and construct and dismantle hung scaffolds.

Confined Space

The aim of this training is to provide candidates with the necessary knowledge and skills to safely enter confined spaces.

It also provides candidates with knowledge of governing standards and legislative requirements for entering and working in confined spaces.

Working at Heights

This course is designed to provide candidates with the necessary knowledge and skills to work safely at heights in the resources, construction and oil and gas industries.

Candidates will be able to identify and control hazards; understand job planning and resources required, access and egress; fall arrest systems and PPE plus work confidently and competently at heights.
